Simon Worthy

Chief Operating Officer - SSG

Simon joined the Sherborne Schools Group in August 2025 and is responsible for overseeing all operational and financial aspects across the schools. 

Simon brings extensive senior leadership experience from both the independent education and defence sectors. Prior to joining the group, he served as Director of Finance and Operations at King’s Schools, Taunton, where he led non-academic strategic planning and financial and operational services supporting over 300 staff. His earlier roles include Bursar at a preparatory school in Shrewsbury and various appointments, as an infantry officer, in the British Army and Ministry of Defence, where he specialised in operational leadership, strategic planning, crisis management, and public relations.

Simon holds an MBA from the Open University and a BA (Hons) in International Relations from the University of Keele. He is passionate about enabling educational excellence through robust governance, inclusive leadership, and empowering teams.

Outside of work, Simon enjoys spending time with his family, trying to tame the garden, exploring the Dorset and Somerset countryside and experiencing the highs and lows of being a supporter of Norwich City F.C.
