Sherborne Prep is proud to share the outcome of its most recent inspection, which found the school to be Excellent across all areas – the highest possible rating from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI).
During a three-day visit in January, inspectors looked closely at every aspect of school life – from the quality of education to our co-curricular programme, facilities, wellbeing provision and leadership. They dropped into lessons, observed playtimes, chatted to staff and pupils, and gathered feedback from parents via confidential surveys.
The report highlights the “excellent social awareness” of our pupils, with younger children praised for their collaboration, creativity and lively discussions. Boarders were described as “confident and articulate”, with strong relationships built on mutual respect and community spirit.
We are especially proud that the report recognised the warmth, ambition and joy that defines life at Sherborne Prep.

“We were delighted that the inspectors that joined us in January truly saw what a special place Sherborne Prep is. The warmth of our community, our ambition for our pupils and the myriad of opportunities on offer shone through and was reflected in our excellent report that we are so very proud of.”
