1. Embed a Unified Transformative Education Framework
Objective: Establish a cohesive, group-wide model that articulates the integration of academic and character development as a single, transformative learning experience.
- Develop and communicate a shared definition of “Transformative Education” across all SSG schools.
- Create a framework that weaves academic, character, and future skills education into a coherent whole, aligned with the Sherborne Difference.
- Establish clear educational outcomes that reflect both academic success and character growth.
2. Deliver Individualised Academic Excellence Across All Schools
Objective: Provide a bespoke, skills-based academic experience tailored to each pupil’s strengths, interests, and aspirations.
- Fully integrate the skills-based programme, incorporating 21st-century competencies (e.g. digital literacy, critical thinking, creativity).
- Invest in curriculum innovation that balances traditional excellence with emerging “future subjects” and interdisciplinary learning.
- Use data and diagnostics to personalise learning journeys and identify optimal pathways for each pupil.
- Expand opportunities for pupil agency, including project-based learning and independent study modules.
3. Strengthen and Scale Character & Wellbeing Education
Objective: Embed a structured, intentional and measurable approach to Character & Wellbeing Education that supports flourishing and wisdom.
- Finalise and implement the SSG-wide character values framework, grounded in Intellectual, Moral, Civic, and Performance virtues.
- Secure accreditation with the Association for Character Education to validate and benchmark progress.
- Integrate character learning outcomes into the wider curriculum, co-curricular programmes, and school culture.
- Train all staff in Character & Wellbeing Education pedagogy, ensuring it becomes a core teaching competency.
4. Professional Development for Transformative Educators
Objective: Equip teachers and leaders with the knowledge, skills and mindsets to deliver the Sherborne Difference effectively.
- Establish and invest in a CPD framework that supports transformative teaching, blending pedagogy for skills-based learning and character development.
- Partner with institutions such as the Jubilee Centre for research-informed professional learning.
- Create professional learning communities across SSG schools for innovation-sharing and collaborative practice.
5. Prepare Pupils for a Rapidly Changing World
Objective: Ensure all pupils leave SSG schools future-ready, with employability, life and leadership skills.
- Embed real-world learning through entrepreneurship, service-learning, internships, and enterprise challenges.
- Expand leadership development opportunities from early years through sixth form.
- Build strategic partnerships with universities, businesses, non-profits and alumni to provide mentorship, internships, and authentic opportunities for pupils.
6. Enhance Pupil Experience Through the Separate Yet Together Model
Objective: Leverage the unique structure of SSG to enhance pupil experience through meaningful cross-school collaboration.
- Expand purposeful co-educational and collaborative opportunities across academics, leadership and co-curricular life.

7. Measure, Evaluate and Communicate Impact
Objective: Build a robust impact evaluation system to monitor progress, celebrate success, and refine strategy.
- Develop KPIs and metrics to track individual growth in both academic and character domains.
- Capture pupil voice and feedback as a central input into programme evolution.
- Share compelling stories and outcomes that illustrate the transformative impact of an SSG education.
